Steem Product Ecosystem
NODE · EXPRESS · STEEM.JS · STEEMCONNECT
Overview
From December 2017 to December 2018 I built open-source products around Steem’s identity, publishing, and reward systems. The work grew into Finally Comments and Finally Network, alongside smaller apps, tools, and public tutorials.
Field notes
- Finally Comments shipped as an npm embed SDK and WordPress plugin, with OAuth, signed comments, weighted votes, guest replies, and moderation that preserved nested threads.
- When iframe login stopped working, authentication moved to a popup and cross-window messages. Releases also addressed duplicate replies, thread counts, sorting, and domain authorization.
- Finally Network turned Steem accounts into independent sites. Six themes shared a common core for photography, writing, video, and portfolios.
- GoodBook.Reviews, Move Club, and Photofeed.club tested specialised communities. An Electron notifier, SteemConnect boilerplate, and tutorial series made the underlying tools reusable.
- The dedicated archive contains 31 repositories. Audience demand led me to focus Finally on integrations and collaborations, remove the payment gate, and spend more time on tutorials.
